NewCampus in September

Whether you’re a contributor, partner, or community supporter, we want to keep you informed and involved in designing a collaborative on-chain space. Here's an inside look at everything that's happened this month! 🫆

Op-Ed: What the Moment Demands of Us

2025 is a year of contradictions. The rhetoric around decentralization is louder than ever, with DAOs, rollups, governance models, and yet communities are quietly reckoning with what it actually takes to make those ideals work: onboarding friction, governance fatigue, and the human messiness of collaboration.

This tension, between the speed of technology and the slowness of trust, is where NewCampus operates. Not because we have all the answers, but because the future won’t be decided by product roadmaps alone. It will be shaped in the conversations, frictions, and experiments that organizations are willing to host.

The future won’t be decided by product roadmaps alone. It will be shaped in the conversations, frictions, and experiments that organizations are willing to host.

The highlights below - from co-creating with The Sandbox DAO, to accelerating builders through the Open Campus Incubator - reflect more than our work. They echo a broader shift in Web3: from hype to habit, from speculation to structure. Building decentralized futures isn’t just about speed… it’s about stamina.

The Sandbox DAO

We recently teamed up with The Sandbox DAO, a global community committed to shaping the future of creativity, collaboration, and ownership in the metaverse.

As a decentralized autonomous organization, it brings together diverse builders, thinkers, and creators aligned by a shared vision: to co-create a more open and participatory digital world.

To deepen engagement and foster meaningful dialogue among its members, The Sandbox DAO partnered with us, to unlock collective intelligence through curated learning and conversation spaces.

With NewCampus facilitating, The Sandbox DAO hosted a series of structured conversations. These sessions were designed to spotlight real voices from the community and prioritize co-creation over top-down decision-making. Here’s how we approached it:

  1. Centering the People

"And it starts with the people."

Participants from across the world came together — developers, artists, project leads — all united by a passion for building in The Sandbox.

  1. Surfacing the Challenges

"Together, they opened up about the challenges of building in The Sandbox."

From governance complexity to onboarding friction, members candidly shared their roadblocks. These stories highlighted not just technical gaps, but emotional and community-based challenges of building in a decentralized ecosystem.

  1. Co-Creating Solutions

"And they didn’t stop at problems — they co-created solutions."

Using collaborative frameworks, participants workshopped actionable ideas — including improving communication channels, mentorship programs for newcomers, and clearer contribution pathways.

  1. Reimagining the Future

"Beyond technical challenges, members shared bold visions for what Sandbox can become."

Conversations turned aspirational, as community members expressed what a truly inclusive, thriving metaverse could look like — one that centers creators, promotes shared ownership, and fosters real-world impact.

OC-I Cohort 3 Demo

We’ve recently concluded a third cohort of the Open Campus Incubator — a 12-week program focused on empowering builders in the EDU Chain ecosystem to create scalable, mission-driven dApps.

Over the course of this program, founders receive invaluable mentorship and expert guidance from industry leaders, on critical areas including go-to-market strategies and tokenomics.

It has been an adventurous journey, bringing together a diverse community of builders for the now third cohort.

Whether you're scaling a DAO or rethinking your org, we’ll meet you where you are, and build with care from there.

We’re super excited to host a cozy dinner together with Base, Idle Finance, and Capy Friends, at Token2049 Singapore!

Better company and the kind of conversations that only happen when you’re gathered around the table with good food.

As the space is rather intimate (and we hope to see lots of you), be sure to RSVP early to secure your spot.

See you as the sun sets! https://luma.com/dinewithnewcampus

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? If you’re heading to Singapore, we’d love to meet you in person!

Bite-sized Cookies

We had a thoughtful afternoon with Faisal, James, Glenn, and Gen, exploring what it really means to build a more authentic and values-driven space for Web3 communities.

This is technically the end of the newsletter, but we don’t have to end here! We’d love for this to be a two-way chat - if this pulse resonates with you, write to us to join our community and continue the conversation.

Until next time! ☼
